The largest organized international group of women poker players Women's Poker
Club (WPC) announces their first live European women tournament. The WPC UK Showdown,
a No Limit Hold’em tournament, will be held at Grosvenor Casino in Walsall
on June 17, 2006. Entry fee is set to £50. The winner will get a share of
the prize pool, a WSOP package, a seat to the World Series of Poker Ladies event.
North American women can win a package for the UK event by participating in
online satellites on wpcshowdown.com. Grosvenor Casino will stage single table
satellites on the morning of the main tournament, at £5 or £10 entry.
WPC was founded over three years ago and now has over 3,000 members. Membership
is free and players of all levels are welcome to join from beginners to professional
players.
