The 36th World Series of Poker broke records: over 29,000 player from over 40
countries have generated a total net prize pool of more than $103 million. Another
record was set for theWSOP main event, a $10,000 No Limit Texas Hold'em tournament.
5,619 have enrolled to compete for $56,190,000 in gross prize money - an impressive
record for a single life poker event.
The previous single-event records was set at the 2004 WSOP main event: 2,576
players had generated a gross prize pool of $25,760,000.
