A glossary of Roulette terms betting options, and odds.
American roulette- Contains 38 numbers, 1-36, 0 and 00.
European roulette- Contains 37 numbers, 1-36, and 0.
Betting Options
Straight Up- Betting on any single number. Pays 35:1.
Split Bet- Betting on two adjacent numbers on the table. Placed
on their common dividing line.
Pays 17:1.
Street Bet- Betting on 3 consecutive numbers. Placed on the outer
right boundary line of the table, next to the corresponding row. Pays 11:1.
Corner Bet- Betting on 4 adjacent numbers on the table. Placed
on the cross where they intersect.
Pays 8:1.
Five Bet- In American Roulette. Betting on the following 5 numbers:
0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. Placed on the outer right boundary line of the roulette table,
between 00 and 3.
Pays 6:1.
Line Bet- Betting on six numbers in two consecutive rows of three
numbers. Placed on the outer right boundary of the roulette table, where it is
crossed by the line dividing the two rows.
Pays 5:1.
Column Bet- Betting on one column of 12 numbers. Placed on one
of three printed boxes marked "2 to 1." located in the short side of the table.
Pays 2:1.
Dozen Bet- Betting on 12 consecutive numbers. Placed on one of
three printed boxes marked "1st 12," "2nd 12," or "3rd 12" located in the long
side of the table.
Pays 2:1.
Red or Black- Betting on all 18 numbers of the color of your
choice. Placed on the red or black diamond located to the right of the table.
Pays 1:1.
Even or Odd- Betting on all 18 numbers, either even or odd. Placed
in one of the two boxes located to the right of the table, the even box or the
odd box.
Pays 1:1.
Low or High- Betting on all 18 numbers of the chosen box. Low
covers the numbers 1 to 18, high covers 19 to 36. Placed in one of the two boxes
located to the right of the table, the low box or the high box.
