How to Play Red Dog

Online Casino : How to Play Red Dog
   Previous Page  Next Page

Red Dog is a game of three cards based on a bet that the third card you receive will fall in rank between the first two cards. Cards are ranked as they are in poker, and the Ace is always high.

In each round you receive 2 open cards, the card with higher value is the high card, and the lower card is the low card. Then you receive a third card and if it fits between the 2 cards (lower than the high, higher than the low) you win.

Course of the game

-You start by placing your bet on the table.

-The dealer gives you two open cards and places one on your right and one on your left, leaving a space between them for the middle card:

- If the 2 cards are of consecutive values: it's a tie (a push- you don't lose or win any money).

- If the 2 cards are equal: the dealer gives you a third card, and places it in the middle. If the middle card is equal to the 2 cards you got three of a kind and win 11:1. If the third card isn't equal to the first 2 cards then it's a tie (push).

- When the 2 cards are not consecutive or equal, the dealer states the spread.

The spread is the number of cards that separate the low card from the high card. For example, if you get a 4 and a 10, the spread is 5, because between 4 and 10 there are 5 cards (5,6,7,8,9). The spread between 8 and Queen is 3, the spread between 5 and Ace is 8, and so on.

- At this point you choose to stand on your original bet, or raise it by an equal sum. It's generally recommended to raise only when the spread is 7 or higher.

If the middle card doesn't fit between the first 2 cards you lose your bet. If the middle card falls in between you win according to the spread.

Payouts according to the spread:

1 card spread pays 5:1
2 card spread pays 4:1
3 card spread pays 2:1
4 to 11 card spread pays 1:1
