Poker terms, hands, game options.
Ante- A small sum of money, used as a pre-bet.
Suit- The symbol drawn on the card: spades, clubs, hearts or
diamonds.
Hands
Hands Rank- The winner in a round is determined according the
combination of cards in each player's hand. The rank of the combinations is: Royal
Flush, Straight Flush, 4 of a kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, 3 of a kind,
2 pairs, pair and high card.
Royal Flush- Ace, king, queen, jack, and 10 of the same suit.
Straight Flush- Five cards in numeric sequence of the same suit.
Four of a Kind (also called Quads) - Four cards of the same value.
Full House- One pair + three of a kind.
Flush- Five cards of the same suit of any value.
Straight- Five cards in numerical sequence, but of different
suit.
Three of a Kind- Three cards of the same value.
Two Pairs- Two sets of two cards of the same value.
A Pair- Two cards of the same value.
High Card- When comparing hands have no card combination, winner
is decided according to the highest card on the hand.
Game Options
Call- To match up a bet that was made.
Check- To decline making a bet. Done only before anyone has placed
a bet.
Fold- To drop out of a round.
Raise- To enlarge the amount of the bet.
