The secret is out- search engines are the economic foundation of hundred of thousands
of businesses in the world today, to say nothing of casino webmasters. Since the
traffic in our field is the most expensive one, no one with half a mind will sell
you his own traffic. Therefore PPC search engines are better off using real traffic
to deliver visitors as affiliate partners rather than sell it to you!
However, the huge search engines like Google and Yahoo can't sell gaming ads
and so forth (and those free websites that collect emails etc. are really not
worth your while. I'll explain on another occasion). So the gambling traffic
is opened for everyone, in general.
The problem is that everywhere there is gold, you'll find a million gold-diggers
competing for the best and most lucrative search result spots. The advantage
is that the number of searches is so great that a site can still receive a couple
of hundred of entries per months and make a fine living. Do the math: 200 search
engine visitors per month are equal to $1,000 worth advertisement for the same
month. Get the potential?
The paradox is that so many gambling webmasters became such experts in search
engine optimization, that aside from being gambling affiliates they sell professional
SEO services for businesses of other fields, less competitive than gambling,
where they rake lovely pots.
How do you adjust and optimize your gambling site for search engines?
1. I can't stress this enough: don't muck around with spam and the likes. Be
the real thing. A genuine and interesting website that makes visitors come back
for more.
2. Add a title to each page.
3. Use only clean HTML code to create your pages.
4. Write a LOT of interesting, high-quality, unique content. Though shall not
copy, though shall not re-write. Come up with new material for your audience…not
like my boring old stuff :)
5. Tell the all world about your site and don't forget to add a link.
6. Exchange links and index your site on other websites to increase exposure.
These parameters are the basis of search engine optimization. These and only
these will make you money after a six months period of work. Admittedly there
are additional highly complex parameters to learn in order to found an empire
in your lifetime, but you'll have to figure them out by yourselves.
Oh, and there is one more parameter- Patience! Sometimes it's takes time, even
years, before a site is profitable. So don't despair and look at your project
as an adventure or long-term mission. Only time will eventually give the results
you hoped for. Along the way do NOT forget to work on your game, study hard,
and analyze your competitors. At the long run there is room for very few.
Search engine optimization is one the subjects I hardly ever discuss. I do
apologize for not answering any question on the matter, but even the slightest,
smallest detail may betray sophisticated secret techniques…
