One of the most worrying phenomena in the affiliate business is the affiliate
sucker – the poor schmuck who purchases media for casinos out of his own
pocket in hopes to see this money tripled some day. What makes him such an idiot?
The plain fact that the casino is loaded while the average affiliate partner isn't…
You probably heard the fairy tales of any casino affiliate manager about that
legendary affiliate partner who is making million thanks to buying media. Yeah,
too bad he neglects too tell you that this partner is a subsidiary of the casino.
In short, don't give in the pressure to buy media for them.
Okay, you can make money out of it, but it doesn't make any sense! Since the
average casino never gets set up before ensuring several millions for a start
plus a gigantic cash flow for marketing and operation, they can buy advertising
spaces and whatnot in every site they want, and in particular in sites that
have a proven capacity for delivering players.
So what an affiliate looking to get rich to do? Make your own traffic! The
smart affiliate partners don't buy media but build their own websites, get mailing
lists (yeah, yeah, I'm anti-spam myself, but if you know a good spammer give
me his number…), distribute flyers or send them out in regular mail (it
still exists you know), and do a lot of search engine optimization. You do NOT
purchase media for casino companies.
A good reason to avoid purchasing media is that advertising costs are really
high, and usually the hand who controls focused traffic will use it for its
own benefit. Why should I, as the owner of high quality traffic, sell it to
a third party if I can close beautiful deals with casinos myself? Why give a
potential competitor the chance to buy great traffic at half price?!
Most times a site that has great traffic is already a direct affiliate of a
casino. Perhaps here and there you might stumble upon a good deal but in most
cases you're wasting your money. In the best case scenario you'll return your
investment, and that's not why you're in this business.
Here's a tip – some companies, mostly less skilled in the casino industry,
are struggling to make it but are clueless when it comes to generating casino
traffic. So if you've established personal connections with a casino you can
ask them for a marketing account. You can use all the budget to purchase media
in attractive and lucrative locations. However you are obliged to earn back
this money up to the last cent and only then you'll start making your share.
I'll go into this methods in detail in my following posts.
So the bottom line is make your own traffic and only then start investing in
marketing casinos. And don't, and I mean it, don't buy them media!
Yours,
Money Master
